    Recorded live at the Roxy, Scratch was one of the Crusaders' best recordings, an extravaganza of jazz and funk with great soloing from the group on top of a set of excellent grooves. For me - "Hard Times", "So Far Away" " (a cover of Carole King's) and "Way Back Home" are, the stand out tracks as they are the smoothest of smooth Jazz funk/5(69).

    I had this record on vinyl. I played it so much, it wore out. I finally found it on CD! Live from the Roxy in California, this disc captured the Crusaders during the jazz-fusion period. Great musicianship as usual, great energy from the audience. My favorite cut is the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," a /5(64).
